This year there are PLENTY of opportunities to celebrate on and around Independence Day ~ July 4th with fireworks and festivals in and around Athens, GA! Here are dates and details for festivals, celebrations, and fireworks coming up in 2017!
Saturday June 24, 2017 – City of Jefferson Freedom Festival 5pm until 10pm. “The Jefferson Freedom Festival will be bigger than ever this year with food, fun, and lots of activities for the children. Music will feature the “Fly Betty Band”. The Fireworks will be shot off from the back of the Fire Station, so the field below the Regions Bank Drive-thru will be available for lawn chairs and picnic blankets.”
Friday, June 30, 2017 “Downtown Fire” – hosted by Commerce, GA
“At Dark” Featuring Hunter Grayson Band, facepainting, food trucks and fireworks in Spencer Park
Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 6pm No fireworks but lots of fun! The Comer GA Police & City of Comer will be having “Public Safety Night at the Movies”.
Athens, GA celebrates Independence Day 2017 on Saturday, July 1, 2017 with downtown festivities & fireworks!
“Activities begin at 5:00 p.m. and includes live music, children’s activities, and food trucks. The festival area is located on Washington Street (between Lumpkin & Jackson) and College Avenue (between Hancock & Broad) The highlight of the evening will be a fabulous fireworks display scheduled for approximately 9:30 p.m. “
And of course Colbert, GA will have the Annual July 4th Parade on Tuesday July 4, 2017 at 9am. No fireworks, but PLENTY of fun, crafts, and food!
